What is in a Description

NurseMaryWrites

Every day I get up and look out my window or go for a drive, and I am fascinated. The beauty of the bare branches outside my window with the assortment of winter birds gathering for a chatty get-together. The glory of the Olympic mountains, across the Sound, the snow helping to bring definition to the slopes and peaks. The wonder of landscapes that are hidden during summer with the full bloom of native vegetation, now more frankly on display with no shy covering of rampant growth.

Several times a week I will proclaim, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. I am known to go on about the Cascades, the Olympics, Mt Baker, Mt Ranier, it is hard to stop.

Recently I have stopped to listen. Within the last 24 hours I have heard from four close friends who also are describing where we live. They say it is so grey. Life is so gloomy. This is such a dark time of year. I hear them say how they are in a funk, they are crabby, they are depressed.

All of us live within a 5-mile radius. We all live in similar neighborhoods, no one works in a dark, run-down factory or a collapsing shop. We are all in the same socio-economic bracket, we all have similar educational backgrounds.

So, is one of us wrong and the other right?

What a person describes is what a person sees. A nurse is trained to act with empathy, accepting the description from the client and to serve them where they are. Whether that person is bright and cheery or they have seasonal affective disorder and cannot see the beauty at the moment. The nurse comes with compassion and a desire to meet the needs, as described by the patient. That is what makes a nurse the perfect person to be your freelance writer, I am that nurse.

More importantly, the nurse will come without judgement about which personality type is correct. The only “correct” personality is the one expressed by the person in front of you, expressing their individual truth.  I am that empathetic nurse turned RN freelance writer coming with no judgement of right or wrong.

This is what makes me the freelance health writer you need to write content for you. I speak to your audience, as described by you.
