In a time of confusion in medicine, why is a freelance nurse writer essential

Nursemarywrites.org

As you look at the news today, is there one universal message from the health care and medical community?

We know that insurance options are up in the air, many people are concerned about paying more, much more, than they have in the past. These people are wondering if they can afford it.

We are hearing that the recommended vaccines have changed and been paired down. Well by the CDC they have been, by the AAP, they have not.

Nutrition, what about that? Oh, yeah, what has been known as the food pyramid, in many ways has been inverted.

Over the last number of years there have been topics that were brought into the public health arena, gun violence, LGBTQ rights, DEI initiatives, which are now being excluded from that conversation.

The one universal message in health care these days is that there is no universal message.

No matter where you get your news, print, on-line, major brands or influencers, recognized names or newcomers, things are changing and it is hard to determine what the current message should be.

Searching for a freelance RN health writer to create the content you need is more crucial today than ever.

The freelance nurse writer is used to pivoting. At the beginning of the shift, as a bedside nurse, they had a plan for their patient. The doctor comes in and writes new orders, no problem, the nurse changes the plan. The patient’s condition takes a turn, the nurse adjusts again. That nurse is me.

The nurse turned freelance writer is used to being asked to do something that is new or not well understood. Before charging in with something they do not understand, the nurse will take the time to look at the policy; they will investigate sites that contain the latest updates and employ an SME to make the final decision. While navigating this confusing path, that nurse will continue to communicate with those making the decision, all the while making sure the patient understands and has a say. I am that freelance nurse writer.

As nurses going through the pandemic and other fast-changing disease processes, there are times that the absolute answer is not yet known. However, nurses don’t wait around until someone else makes the decision, they continue to care for the patient, inform both the care team and the patient, making sure that the best decision is made, after exploring options and best-case scenarios. That RN turned freelance writer is me and I am here to work with you.
