Hi, my name is Mary. I am a freelance nurse writer living in Edmonds, Washington, just blocks from the beautiful Puget Sound. I have been a nurse all my professional life, in fact, I started before college as a nursing assistant when I was in high school.
What that means is you have found someone who knows how to speak to your audience, breaking down medical jargon, speaking to the everyday person you are serving.
I have been delivering news, for many years, in many situations, in language that can be understood by the lay person. Talking with businesses about projects or products is a service I can provide you as well.
Written with the persepective of one who has seen it all, from the front lines, to the office of a nurse leader. I specialize in speaking to the person in front of me, where they are, at that moment.
Are you looking for informative articles, ensuring your publications and brands receive expert, engaging content tailored to your audience? I can provide that for you.
If what you require is compelling blog posts on experiences in the hospital, and beyond, to help brands connect with their audiences, through expert storytelling, I can supply that for you, from the persepective of one who has lived it.

Patients following instructions is a major part of a treatment working. However, how can they follow instructions if they do not have them or do not understand them. I can create patient education that is understood and can be logically followed.
I’m Mary, a Registered Nurse, who has transitioned to a career in freelance writing. My experience, at the bedside, in leadership, and staff education, gives me a diverse background and expertise that I am enjoying bringing to the world of health content writing. Because of my diverse background, I am able to write from a variety of viewpoints, bringing the flavor that is right for your publication. My intention is to create material, grounded in current evidence-based medical and health information and delivered in a format that meets the audience’s need. Based on my accumulated experience gained through my years at the bedside and beyond, as well as being a mom of premies as well as adopted kids, I will be able to bring a unique and accurate view.
My professional journey has taken several paths, always guided by a desire to bring my best to the task at hand. That continues to be my goal, to deliver the product that you desire, in a format that suits your audience, in an accurate, and timely manner that will bring the results you expect.
Having worked in 8 states and one foreign country, I have been able to see medicine and patient care from many aspects. I continue to learn and grow as I am exposed to alternate ways of caring for patients, always with empathy and caring.
